do me a favor, would you?
Hey, you! Yeah, you. Would you like to do an extremely awesome thing for me?

I adore Cadbury creme eggs far out of proportion to what's reasonable. During the couple of months each year that they're available, I have to be careful about how often I go into stores that sell them, lest I subsist entirely on liquidy sugary deliciousness. Delicious, yes. Nutritious, no.

What I really want is to be able to have these year round -- not a steady diet of them, but an occasional treat! Unfortunately, I know that buying a year's supply for myself will result in a week of extreme sugar high, and then a year of pining.

Here's where you come in!

Your mission, should you care to accept it, is to go buy a few of these sugary time bombs and store them somewhere until some time later in the year when you think to yourself, "Hey, I bet it would surprise aroraborealis to get a couple of these today!" Then you can deliver them to me in whatever way most strikes your fancy. I will be surprised and delighted, trust me.

Yay? Yay!

I MAY have just finished off my stash from last year when I realized they were out again... ;)

I admire your restraint!!

I swear they put some addictive substance in the danged things... they're just about the only foodstuff that I get that way about!
catcatya on March 9th, 2011 08:41 pm (UTC)
Yay! but I similarly adore them and they would never ever get to you. :)

Yes, this is a task only fit for people who don't share my problem, unfortunately ...

I like one or two, but not the constant supply that many seem to prefer. I will help you out here (provided dilletante doesn't help me help you :) ).
harimad on March 9th, 2011 08:44 pm (UTC)
Terrific idea. I wish I were in a position to assist but they'd probably arrive as scrambled Cadbury creme eggs.

I'm glad to see that Cadbury eggs are now available in my area as singles - for a few years they came only in packs of three, which is more than is good for me - but I'm sorry that the mini-eggs have disappeared from the market.

Mini-eggs just appeared around here last year, as far as I can tell, but I don't like them as much. Should we attempt to send you some from here?

Yay! What a brilliant community-sourcing idea. :)

Do you happen to know if they freeze okay?
ruthless compassion: pouncearoraborealis on March 9th, 2011 09:25 pm (UTC)
They freeze great!

Noted!

I love that I wasn't the only person with this question. :)

If you want to stash some in my chest freezer, feel free! They'll be safe from me, sadly.
Regytregyt on March 9th, 2011 09:52 pm (UTC)
Absolutely! I love them enough that I'm always grateful when they go out of season. But if I have some clearly marked as for you, they should be safe! Also, you should email me your address. I mean, just in case. ^^

Yes! What is your email address?

Just in case.

firstinitiallastname@gmail

But if you don't remember my full real name, regyt@omniheurist.net would work, too.

ditto :)

I have put a stash of them aside in past years, because I too will eat myself sick on them given the chance. But sadly, they get stale after a couple of months. Does that matter to you?
Beahbeah on March 9th, 2011 11:40 pm (UTC)
Never mind, I just read the freezing comment. Genius! I will try to hide a few away for you.

Yay! :D
Jasonjd_trouble on March 10th, 2011 03:50 pm (UTC)
I love them too, since I was a teen. What's your strategy for eating them?
Keys and locks, roots and branchesomnia_mutantur on March 12th, 2011 12:27 pm (UTC)
And, done.

(I met you last weekend, you seemed lovely, and I can definitely hide these inside the ice cream maker in the freezer, which means they'll be forgotten about until high summer and can be delivered upon rediscovey.)

I found some mini creme eggs. Are those also delicious to you?
ruthless compassion: pouncearoraborealis on March 21st, 2011 08:37 pm (UTC)
I just had my first one the other day and it was, indeed, delicious in all the right ways!
That Chick with the Evil Laughsparkymonster on March 21st, 2011 08:49 pm (UTC)
EXCELLENT.

Also, I don't like Cadbury creme eggs at all so maintaining a secret stash (in the freezer, natch) is easy peasy lemon squeezy.
