It's sunny and crisp and cool and beautiful. THIS is why I love fall.

Walked out of my apartment this morning to find a pile of books on the sidewalk. Picked up Choice Cuts, the latest by Mark Kurlansky (of Cod - a must read). This copy of CC is an advance reading copy, and seems to be missing at least one image, but I'm excited to have found it! Especially after having heard Kurlansky read the other night at the Booksmith.

There are piles of soggy leaves all over the sidewalks, making walking treacherous. In some places, the leaves have been swept away, and there are dark, leaf-shaped stains on the sidewalk, maybe from the tannin (?) or something else in the leaves. Very pretty.
