I'm looking for book recommendations. Favorite books, essential books, books I haven't heard of but should have. I'm not interested in "it's a classic, must-read" kind of recommendations so much as, "this is a book I enjoyed immensely and I think you might, too," sorts of books.

I normally read sci-fi, fantasy and other fiction, with some non-fiction spattered about, but you should recommend whatever :)
