(no subject)

I spent most of yesterday in the car with Kristin, driving to western CT for our friend Diana's wedding shower. I was feeling a little grumpy about losing my whole Sunday for this, not because I don't love Diana and want to celebrate with her, but because she's ALREADY married. I don't think you get to have a wedding shower if you're already married, call me crazy, but I don't.

Nevertheless, it was a nice day. Traffic was surprisingly not bad. The driving gods must have been smiling on us, because when we were going west, 84 eastbound was backed up, and when we were going east (which we were SURE would be a bear) 84 WESTbound was backed up, but it was basically smooth going for us.

It was nice to see Diana, odd to see a couple of other people from college, at least one of whom I'd never hit it off with particularly well. Of those, one seemed a lot nice now than she ever did then, and the other just reminded me why I never much liked her.

The best part of the day, though, was getting 6 hours in the car with Kristin. I might have liked it even more if it weren't in the car, but it's been a long time since I got to spend a big chunk of concentrated time with her, and it was awfully nice.

Too bad, though, about today being monday.
