First things first: I'm drunk.

And what else does one do when drunk but post to livejournal?

It's so great to be back in Xela. I love seeing all of my friends, and I miss the friends who have gone back to their homes. For those (few) of you who know the Casa de las Amigas: it's been taken over by loud, messy Danes. Oti is, to say the least, unhappy.

Today was a day of staying close to "home" but still moving around a lot. We went to San Francisco El Alto for their big market in the morning, and in the afternoon, we went to Fuentes Georginas, the most gorgeous warm spring in the world (tragically, however, it's not a HOT spring). And in the evening, we enjoyed the graduation and dinner, which is why I'm now drunk.

Tomorrow, we move on to the lake, which I'm eagerly anticipating. And, wow, we're well past the halfway mark on this trip. It's really weird to be here for such a short time, especially to blow through Xela in just a couple of days. I've done all the things I really wanted to do, but it still feels weird to be here so briefly!

I told Sharon, the woman who took the job I declined in October, that she should keep me in mind to fill in for her when she goes on vacations -- that seems like a good way to stay in touch with the school as well as to eventually see if that might be a job that I'd like to keep on the back burner as a possibility.

All of this has given me a lot to think about, both personally and in terms of future plans. We'll see what comes of it. In the meantime, it's awfully nice to be here.
