You want to get kids interested in engineering (especially mechanical engineering, but let's keep it broad). What sorts of interesting and "hip" projects might you think about to capture the attention of kids who aren't already into engineering. I'm thinking things like designing theme parks or mapping the movement of dancers in order to create models or something linking into popular TV shows like American Idol or some such.

EDIT: The age group I'm specifically looking at is late HS into college, but don't let that limit your tossing out ideas!

I have some work that requires a lot of keyboard time in the next 4-6 weeks, and I shouldn't do it. So, I'm looking to hire someone to be my hands. This will be boring work that involves me sitting next to you at the computer, telling you where to click, and then telling you what numbers to transfer from a web page into a number of spreadsheets. It'll probably pay about $10/hr. If you or someone you know is interested, drop me a line! (Note: this work will, most likely, take place at my house and will require me and the person with the hands to work closely together, so personality is as much as a factor as anything else, since it's not a high-skill job.)
