What else but giving thanks

Today is grey and a bit windy. Sometimes, when I wake up on a grey day, it bums me out, but not on holiday days, when it just makes me feel *cozy*.

I have a lot to be thankful for, as always: my family and friends are at the top of the list, again, as always :) Life would be a different place without all y'all.

This year, specifically, I'm thankful for my freedom to wander, to be idle, and to veer dramatically off any given path to explore the dark woods lining the way.

I'm thankful for the political freedoms that I have as a citizen of the US, and I hope that I can live up to the responsibility I feel to become more active in the face of an increasingly unpleasant national climate around political freedoms.

I give thanks to the fluke that had me born in some categories of privilege: relative wealth, white, among others. I'm not proud of them, but they do make my life easier, and that's worth a lot.

I'm thankful for the plenty of the table, today and other days. I'm thankful for having a house that's also a home.

I'm thankful that this year I'll get to have pie with my feast :)

I'm thankful for the (sometimes frightening) uncertainty of the future.

Here's wishing all of you very happy, healthy, warm, and otherwise delightful thanksgivings today, and every day.
