reviewing 2005, a bit late

Weirdest compliment: "You wax so well!" (From my waxer, on waxing my legs. What does that even mean? I didn't ask.)
Craziest day: Exactly a year ago.
Happiest (re)discovery: I love singlehood.
Most fascinating food discovery: Pound cake is unleavened (when done right)
Biggest cooking disaster: beet greens (bitter and gritty is rarely a compliment)
Best farmer's market: San Francisco
Best work benefit: awesome coworkers
Second best work benefit: spa days
Most missed indulgence: massages (expect an email, dakotakym)
Best vacation: Must I choose between the beach in Mexico, touring Guatemala, seeing lots of old friends in Aspen, visiting trom and kcatalyst and home? No, I didn't think so.
Most radical physical change: short hair!
Most radical overall change: Too many to count
Most absurd and ultimately pointless drama: That One Guy
Least favorite work trip: Orlando, FL
Significant relationships ended: 3
Significant relationships started: 3-5 (I think. Time will tell.)
Firsts, foodwise: I'd like to think there's at least one, but it's not leaping to mind. This year: durian, damnit!
Firsts, otherwise: boy howdy.
Standout book: The Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan or Everything and More: A Compact History of Infinity by David Foster Wallace (whose fiction I can't stand.)

What am I forgetting? If there's a statistic about my 2005 that you're dying to know, you know what to do :)

Today, I was going to write about how thankful I am for Burning Man, but I've been sidetracked by having a really nice run this afternoon, so,…
