I've been having mild RSI symptoms for about a week and change -- mostly wrist pain after too much time at the keyboard (where too much time is less than half an hour), so I'm trying to change my habits, type less, move around more, stretch, all that good stuff. I know, though, through friends' experiences, that RSIs can get very bad very quickly, and I want to avoid that. One thought is a different keyboard (I do all my computing on laptops), with the hand position spread and typing at an angle. I'd like to avoid having to go the speech recognition route, as I'm not convinced I'd use it because of how inconvenient it is.

I'm curious to hear tips and tricks from all of you -- things you've tried that have worked or not worked. Good keyboards or other technology changes, etc. I'm also thinking about treatments from, say chiropractors, physical therapists and the like, and I'd be happy to get Boston area recommendations for that sort of thing.
