I checked in in approximately 3 minutes and then spent some time trying to find a sandwich shop that was making sandwiches that early (without success). The plane food was fine, ultimately, but not quite enough for the 6 hour flight. It wasn't too crowded, so the middle seat in my row was empty, which makes a big difference in comfort, and the flight was uneventful.
Alamo didn't have any compact or economy cars, so they "upgraded" me to a midsize, which is nice enough, and I know they think they're doing me a favor, but, really, I don't need this big car for just me and my suitcase. I'd be perfectly happy to have a tiny little thing that gets better gas mileage (in fact, I'd prefer it) but what can you do?
Arrived at Mort and Kcat's place just at the time I expected, and proceded to have a nice, mellow evening tickling the baby and chatting and the like. Slept like a log, unsurprisingly, and now I really want a piece of that cake I made for
