I'm going to a fancy wedding this weekend (*wave*) and I have the perennial problem: nothing to wear. Or do I?

All of my formal dresses are long-sleeved, and my favorites are velvet, to boot. But maybe the hotel will be air conditioned enough that I'll be glad for long velvet? The alternative, of course, is one of my least favorite things, ever: shopping for formal clothes. My tastes are quirky enough that the odds of finding something I'm excited about enough to spend formal-clothes-money on it are slim. On the other hand, if I do, then I'll have something formal for summer.

Thoughts? Suggestions?
