Weekend's end

It's nice to reach the end of the weekend and feel satisfied with having done lots of stuff, and it's especially nice when some of what I did, I've been meaning to do for a couple of weeks (like putting away that ridiculously huge pile of laundry that's been moving from my bed to the floor on a daily basis for way too long) and some of what I did made other people's lives easier. Unfortunately, one of the things I did was not get quite enough sleep. Oh well.

In addition to all that, I had an excuse to buy a sparkly red hat (hey, does anyone have a picture of that, by the way) and get dressed up to take money from people for the debut of Emperor Norton's Stationary Marching Band, which was fun! I got to see approximately 100 people I know for about 3 seconds apiece, while taking their money and waving them in. Except for the handful of folks who I got to see for longer because I had to turn them away, which was really a bummer, even though it meant I got to actually exchange words with them, other than "$10, please!" and "We need to stamp your hand!"

The show was a total blast. After being sold out for half an hour, we closed the doors completely so we could watch, and it was entirely great, which I knew it would be based on the rehearsal I attended on Thursday night, except it was even better with an enthusiastic audience and lights and full costumes and... yeah! Yay, it was such fun! I can't say how much I admire chillguru for making this happen. I'm inspired!
