So, this weekend, I'm going to the wedding of a good friend of mine from college. She and I haven't been in very close touch in the last few years, mainly because I (and possibly she) suck at staying in touch with people who aren't handy to my primary communication media (lj, IM, followed distantly by phone in the case of people with whom my r'ship has a culture of talking on the phone). At this wedding, I'll get to see lots of folks who I probably haven't seen since college. It should be kick!

It also involves more travel, and I'm kinda tired at the moment, and feeling a bit thin. My plan, up to now, has been to drive down Friday afternoon/night for a bbq the night before, and then hang out Saturday before the wedding, which is in the midafternoon, and stay through the post-nuptial brunch Sunday morning before driving back to Boston, dropping of my car, switching suitcases and flying to DC.

But I have a lot of stuff to do this week, and I'm starting to think maybe I should skip the Friday BBQ in favor of another night in my own bed and the luxury of not stressing quite as much about work before the conference next week. Is this incredibly lame of me? I hate feeling like I need to balance mental health and social obligations. There's no chance of me missing the wedding itself, but making it an overnight instead of a weekend is so appealing.
