RUST: day 2

I'm tired, so I'm not going to detail today, which was less informationally dense than yesterday, anyway. The weekend was good, and my permacultural urges are revitalized, and dancingwolfgrrl and I have some crazy ideas that I hope we manage to bring to fruition. Some of them are more realistic than others, including, possibly most immediately, running some workshops. I don't really think of myself as an expert in any of this stuff, but something that was nicely demonstrated this weekend is that part of the point is to learn from each other and be resources with whatever level of stuff we know. I know enough to run a few little workshops on topics that might be interesting to people, and I think I'd really enjoy that.

I also had a whole bunch of, "Duh!" moments, most of which took the tone of, "Why am I not already doing X??" where X includes vermicompost, starting mushrooms, and rainwater harvesting. I'd also really love to put together a nice constructed wetlands for managing greywater, keep chickens and have a beehive. Also, I really need to send the soil in the back yard out for testing and then decide what, if anything, would be nifty to have back there. Though that will take a back-burner position if dancingwolfgrrl's and my truly crazy idea actually blossoms.
