I'm thankful for road trips with great companions. In the past couple of years, I've had the good fortune to take a variety of these with a variety of people, and I just love it. For all that I like getting around on foot, there's something about covering the amount of ground that makes driving trips great fun, too. It's a treat to see the world with good company, usually with interesting stops and destinations thrown in. It feels like a very personable way of seeing and experiencing the world -- plus quality time to boot! What's not to like?
And tonight, I'm feeling especially thankful for the things out in the world that I will be thankful for in the future but that I don't know about, yet, or that haven't taken shape in my life enough for them to rise to the surface of my gratitude. In general, I feel that I'm currently in a fallow (read: difficult) time in my life cycles right now, but in this little moment, I feel the bubble of potential hovering beyond my view, and I'm glad for it.
