Finally, I've met a cheese I wouldn't like.

That's how I felt. There's a line, and casu marzu is on the other side behind a barbed wire fence.

The sentence "Some people clear the larvae from the cheese before consuming; others do not" is going to haunt me. But probably not as much as the fact that the larvae can launch themselves up to 15 centimeters when disturbed.

I was actually able to generate a frame of mind where I could see how one could perceive that as food. . . until I got to the part where, yes, those larvae ARE intestinal parasites of mammals. And then I clicked through on the Myasis link. (Not recommended. Very "Thy Fly II".)
