Hi. Sometimes life is more work than others.

Tell me something nice!

About life: what a gorgeous fall day it is.

About you: I love that photograph of you. Also, am missing you and would love to hang out sometime. Perhaps with oysters and tasty drinks. :)

About life: sometimes your work gets noticed by the people that matter, even if you think otherwise.

About you: I think you live your life bravely and independently.

You are a highly-trained hedonistic enabler and I love it.

When we spoke on the phone the other night, I laughed louder and more than I have since moving.

Because that's one of the things you do - bring joy to my world. Thank you.

I think you are awesome and that your "daring adventures" inspire more people than you may realize.

Also, sometimes, at moments when life is being a lot of work, really wonderful and surprising things can happen. Relatedly, NRE is a blast.

I was rereading the fall confessional, and thinking how cool you are for having hosted it. :)

I hope I wasn't annoying in it. If I was, I apologize.

I'm getting married on Sunday!

I also won a first place ribbon for my mead this year at the Topsfield Fair.

Congratulations on both counts!!

Thank you!

And since I haven't said anything to you yet, congratulations to you on the impending child! I'm quite happy for the two of you.

Remember that story about "Canadia" that I was telling at brunch recently?

Here it is in all its gory detail: http://www.ealdormere.ca/stories/GreatCanadianWallpaperFestival.htm

You are cute.

You have a lot of talented and nifty friends, and you can *totally* hang tough with the talented and nifty. ;)

I reallyreally like thinking of walking out of bloc11 with you and realizing we were, essentially, wearing the same clothes. That was oddly comforting.

I also really like the fact that you seem to have been in my life for a long time, even though, really, we are new friends.

and I also like that we have such a cool friend who cares enough about both of us that she wanted us to hang out.

if you're up earlyish on a friday morning in the not too distant future, i propose tasty breakfast and coffee at a park, watching toddlers be hooligans.

1) my research is going so well, I'm considering submitting a Brevia to Science.

2) there's this guy in my program who's a fifth year, and who's been miserable in his lab and his work for quite a while, and basically just did a complete reboot and changed labs and has restarted the dissertation clock, and he's so happy now.
