Is it acceptable to wear the same Halloween costume to multiple parties in a season?

Yes, full stop
Yes, if there's not much overlap among attendees
No, no matter what
I'm feeling: curiouscurious

Yes, but I'm cheap and tacky, so you probably shouldn't take advice from me =)

For other people? Probably "Yes, if there's not much overlap". For myself? Well, one year I went to 4 Hallowe'en parties and managed to put together a different costume for each one.

I not only plan to wear my halloween costume twice, I kind of wish I could just wear it around all the time for fun.

Hear, hear. I commissioned mine this year from doctoraicha and it's multipurpose...I can use it for Arisia, and make it almost any character I want.

Almost yes always
You need a new balloon boy costume each time.

For Halloween this year, I'm going to pretend to be a musician.

Will that be scary enough?

I kind of think of myself as being one thing for the year, and go everywhere as the same thing.

If I'm going to more than one party in one day, then hell yes, I'm wearing the same thing.
I prefer to mix it up if the parties are on multiple days.

I think a good costume is pretty time/thought consuming and should do for the whole holiday season. Dan's been super gluing antler tips to his forehead for years now. With his faux fur wrap he's a perfect satyr, sans hooves.

I think of a halloween costume as a persona I'm adopting... which to me means I get to be that persona for several days/evenings if I want, and in some ways it lingers long past the costume.

Exception: if you play capoeira and they have a three-hour halloween-roda, you probably cannot wear a hand-painted costume that can't be washed to that and then to parties the next night.

I have a hard enough time managing one costume
I figure I'm doing well if I get that far.

My first reaction was, "seriously, are people that judgmental?"

On the other hand, I occasionally wear a costume that's a joke (like the time I was a cocktail party), and jokes do wear out. I don't think that's exactly the question you were asking, though.
