Leave the world a better place than when I found it.

That's it for me too.

What a deliciously ambiguous question.

I want to make wonderful food, and feed it to people. I want to enable new ways for us to tell each other stories about ourselves (which is, to me, most of what "the humanities" are). I want to spend a lot of time — my most precious resource — experiencing the mundane, the minute, by myself and with others.

I also want to jump off a tall thing and out of an airplane, go into space, perform in public with a hoop or poi or the djembe, raise a kid, spend time with other kids, do a lot more psychonautical exploration, and make people's lives better in a million little ways.

Live.

That might sound obvious, but I listen to so many people who seem to feel trapped in their lives, like their real life is something that they don't have and can't see any path toward. I want to feel that this is my life, this is the real thing, and I am an active agent in it.

Hopefully at least a little bit of everything. Ok, maybe not everything. But would be nice to try a large number of different things.

Play music for a living, and have that be practical enough that I'm not spending every moment *not* on stage stressing about money. (This implies a certain degree of success at it.)

There are lots of "small" things I'd like to do, too, and I'm trying to be constantly vigilant in order make those happen regularly. But the music thing, that's the big one. All my life.

Right now I think it's...
Nurture connections, and people's (including my own!) sense of connectedness and relatedness.

For me, that seems to be one of the keystones to the other things I want, like "to be happy" and "to have a meaningful spiritual practice" and "to grow food."

Survive until next Monday!

(Which is kind of flippant and kind of not. I love the path I'm on so much that the best way I can articulate my life path is just to say "this way".)

Touch people's lives.
Unfold/integrate myself.
Communicate with others.
Love.
Be comfortable.
Overcome challenge.
Earn praise.

Some of these seem to conflict.
Some of them seem like better ideas than others.
Some of them I'm not especially proud of wanting.

Right now I want to buy six of these, two orange dinosaurs, one yellow dinosaur, a lego house, toy car, and one small woman so that I can make a diorama dinosaur comic with white boards on the back wall to change the text.

This impulse will probably stop soon.

try to do the right thing even when it's no fun and learn that maybe personal happiness isn't the goal. try not to be afraid or too angry. be patient. shrug.
