I think I'm going to make it a mission to try hot chocolate from all of these places this winter.
I'm feeling: happyhappy

One of them has a convenient location right across the road from my workplace. :) I'd love your company in drinking some hot chocolate.

You know, I picked up vegan marshmallows the other day with no particular purpose -- I was just aware in the back of my head that I needed them for something. Obviously, what I needed them for was hot chocolate.

reporting back: the higher melting temperature of agar-agar yields a more coherent marshmallow experience than gelatin marshmallows. I recommend cutting them into small pieces for more of a mini-marshmallow effect; however, I expect in the end the most satisfactory non-gelatin hot chocolate experience is obtained from Marshmallow Fluff*.

*though, alas, not vegan.

That chocolate bar is something I've been meaning to try for ages. It seems like six kinds of awesome.

Only six?

Well, there is a seventh kind of awesome, but it can only be found...IN MY PANTS!

Want company for Canto 6 Bakery? Or, well, most of them, but particularly that one?

Yes, please!

I love that mission. You've already got volunteers, but I'd totally take on this challenge with you.

Given the choice, I'll never choose straight chocolate over another option (vanilla, fruit, etc.) so high-end cocoa usually doesn't do it for me. For whatever reason though, I'm still craving a Car Bomb hot cocoa from Redhead's in NYC weeks later. It *sounds* awful, but for some reason the combination of Guinness, Jamesons, hot chocolate, and (Baileys) marshmallow pushed it into a different category. It's to the point where I'm digging up recipes for the marshmallows so I don't have to travel. :)

I really liked the mint hot cocoa at Bloc 11. Not sure if they have it at Diesel also, otherwise it might be worth the trip.
