I looked back in your LJ and couldn't find the earlier reference to this, but I can say that I also recommend Sofra, 1 Belmont St, Cambridge.

This is the preceding post: http://aroraborealis.livejournal.com/846018.html

And thank you for the recommendation: I'll happily add
it to my list! Perhaps you'll join me?

Love to; I have Wednesdays off, now, and so if that would work for you sometime, let me know.

Christmas was once banned in the city of Boston by the area's Puritan leaders. From 1659-1681, residents were strongly discouraged from celebrating the holiday.

I like the hot chocolate from the Friendly Toast, but I think it might not be high-class enough for this list.

I thought I'd comment here: I visited Canto 6 with psongster this past Wednesday. Unfortunately, my evaluation is that its hot chocolate falls into the same category as the others from the Globe list--pretty lackluster. However, a) they didn't have their home-made marshmallows, so that may have made a real difference, and b) if you do go to make your own judgment I strongly recommend that you *do* try some of their pastries. The cannellini (sic??) and batosk are both really very good, and they have an almond shortbread type cookie that I rather liked, even though I don't generally like such things. Just FYI.
