First, because thus far the list provided by boston.com is so disappointing, I'm branching out so as to be able to provide a more trustworthy (well, of course I'd say so) top ten list sometime later in the year. So I had the spicy hot chocolate at Cafe Zing in Porter Square books. This hot chocolate was both chocolatey and spicy, though I thought it could have used more of each. The flavors were well balanced with each other, though, and overall, it was a very satisfying cup of hot chocolate. B
Then, from the original boston.com list, I had the "Tuck's Turtle" caramely hot chocolate at Diesel Cafe in Davis. This was rich and tasty and extremely sweet. I have a pretty major sweet tooth, so I really liked it, but for anyone with a more moderate taste in sweet, this would be well over the top. It could have been more chocolatey, but it was pretty respectable. B+
