make a wish!
What rituals or lucky items do you wish on (or have you heard of others wishing on them)?

My (probably incomplete) list:

* blowing out birthday candles
* returning the clasp of a necklace to behind one's neck
* passing a truck carrying a load of hay
* falling star/first star of the night
* eyelash (blown off the fingertip)
* when all the digits on a clock are the same number
* blowing the fuzz off a dandelion puff
* breaking a wishbone
* throwing a coin in a water fountain/wishing well

Others?

A three- or five-petaled lilac flower. You have to eat the flower.

I've always known four-leaf clovers as lucky, but not as objects to wish on!

Hm.. I must've started my own tradition with the wishing on clovers bit, then.. I've done it ever since I was young.
From the way the question's worded, "What rituals or lucky items do you wish on?", I thought that you were looking for personal experiences/traditions as well as more commonly accepted lore.

Oh, yes, that's not to say you're wrong, just that that's different from what I'm familiar with!

- holding one's breath through a tunnel
- eating the tip of a piece of pie last (the wish bite)
- touching a (preferably well-woven) maypole
- tossing a red egg in naturally running water on spring equinox
- writing down a wish and burning it in a yule fire

Tossing a coin over the side when you are on a boat. Gotta give Neptune his props.

From your list:
* blowing out birthday candles (have to get them all out in one breath)
* returning the clasp of a necklace to behind one's neck
* falling star/first star of the night
* eyelash (blown off the fingertip)
* blowing the fuzz off a dandelion puff (have to get all the fuzz off in one breath)
* breaking a wishbone (only if you get the larger half)
* throwing a coin in a water fountain/wishing well

When a digital clock says "11:11", touch red and make a wish. It has to still be 11:11 when you look up again. Other number sequences aren't lucky.

The cork from the champagne bottle for the last successful defense is lucky for the next student in the lab in line to defend (prelims, proposal, and dissertation defenses). But we didn't open champagne after my proposal defense, so I don't know what to give the next girl in line.

It's lucky if a ladybug lands on you.
