Today, the sun is shining, and out in the world, people are working to make things better.

Right now, people are giving quarters to beggars on the street, rescuing abandoned infants, putting fragile ecosystems into conservation trusts, sheltering runaways, feeding hungry people. Right now, millions of people are acting with love and tenderness towards family, friends, and strangers.

Right now, people are growing a bounty of fruits and vegetables that are bursting into ripeness, conceiving brilliant schemes, and someone is plotting an inspired surprise that will delight and unsuspecting friend.

Right now, I can't even foresee what awesome thing is going to change the world tomorrow. Right now, anything fantastic could happen any moment.

(Inspired by the manifesto of encouragement.)

What's giving you hope today?

Today at the Montreal Biosphere, I learned that there is a thing under development that work like a wind-turbine, but sits in the ocean and uses ocean currents. Ocean currents are hundreds of times stronger than wind, and are more consistent so the power-gain is great. Nobody can see these things, so they'll escape the attack of lowering property-values.

More importantly, I learned that people are still thinking and exploring and developing new technologies, and science museums exist with the mission of getting young people excited about ways to make the future better.
