"I weep for you," the Walrus said:
"I deeply sympathize."
With sobs and tears he sorted out
Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
Before his streaming eyes.

"O Oysters," said the Carpenter,
"You've had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?'
But answer came there none--
And this was scarcely odd, because
They'd eaten every one.

"The Walrus and the Carpenter" from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There by Lewis Carroll

Call me a glutton, but I there's no way I can agree that a dozen oysters is "plenty" for two people. At best, I'd call it "plenty for a nice appetizer"

Mmmm, oysters. Sadly, I can't eat them. I don't actually know if I'd react to them the same way I do to clams and mussels, but it's an unpleasant enough experience that I'm unwilling to test it.

Marliave, in Boston. They have $1 oysters 4-6 and 9-10 every night!
