Standard poodle: curly-haired, sometimes excessively and/or absurdly groomed, smart, friendly, accepting, and sometimes jumpy and oversensitive.

that was totally going to be my answer too! Or possibly a border collie mix -- my mom has one that I adore, who is border collie smart but not border collie neurotic.

I believe that means we can romp together! Poodles are very social :)

One of the big floppy kind that lie around all day as if they've been working very hard whenever you're not watching.

And I would have a sweet potato.

OMG sweet potato!!!

I see your sweet potato and I raise you dogs in elk!

I would be a dog in elk. If I was lucky.

Either an Irish Wolfhound (extraordinarily large, lazy, usually quiet) or one of these:

*cracking up* that is awesome!

A bull terrier: loyal, high energy, and often playful, but also fearless, willful, and occasionally aggressive.

Hazardous if allowed to get bored.

And, funny looking.

Probably some sort of terrier who has a compulsive urge to shepherd things. A dog with plans that must be done in a timely manner. Then we can go catch sticks! I think I'd like being a Jack Russell.

The kind of free-range friendly mutt that roams around in and out of everyone's houses and makes friends with everyone. I'm actually a little sad that you don't get that kind of dog in the city...

italian greyhound...
"intelligent, but they often have a "what's in it for me" attitude and do not exactly throw themselves into training with great excitement, so patience, firmness, gentleness, and reward in training seem to work best. They are also known for their mischievous ingenuity.
tends to gravitate to warm places, [cudddle], or burrow into blankets and under cushions for warmth."

Whichever breed spends the most time licking its own balls.

OMG I love you

Irish setter. Largely for looks, although the personality works too. Wikipedia tells me they are "highly intelligent" with "a tendency to play deaf." Not naturally aggressive. Needs constant stimulation and affection. Sounds like me.

Based on similar reactions to the local temperatures, love of swimming, and the tendency to explore the world with our mouths? Mostly likely, "mine"

What do you think we are, Monkeys on Sticks???goat on August 11th, 2010 12:48 am (UTC)
I've always fancied myself a Golden Retriever, though I can butt wiggle with the best of the pit bulls (who don't just wag their tails, but their whole backside!).
Boring Nerdsignsoflife on August 11th, 2010 07:33 pm (UTC)
A standard poodle -- way too smart, but a lot goofier than you might think on first impression.
