So embarrassing: "missweet". I was trolling around IRC chat rooms, and I figured a cute, girly name would get lots of attention.

Boy howdy.

I take it that worked well ;-)

Wow...
That brings back memories...

My first online handle was Little John.

My first online handle (on BBSes in the 90s) was "Random" after Arthur Dent's daughter in the fifth Hitchhiker's Guide book.

I believe I also used constellation names - probably Rigel or Orion.

Then I was using Bilove (eugh) when I first got to college. By the end of college, I was using metagnat, which I've always loved because it isn't taken anywhere, it's nicely gender neutral and it conveys a flavor.

pir was the first username I used but the first handle in that sense was Mort. I was an awkward gangly teenage redhead with seemingly too many elbows and knees, it seemed to fit.

First one I can still remember was Clockwork, but I know there were others before that...
I came up with Clockwork when I was digging around BBS's at the age of 12 or so. I spelled it differently on a regular basis, but that's where it started.

"Fishmonger". My second, which I took to more and used for a year or two, was "moth".

Um, Bey. Kinda stuck.

"rowan"
i was very attached to that handle, and used it on all the MOOs and BBSes i frequented in the early 90s... and if the women who ended up marrying my college boyfriend hadn't already had it as an MIT username when i got to college, i might still be invested in that name! which is a weird thought.

"woodward"

I'm pretty ensconced in my identity.

"Castellan", on the in-house mainframe chat system at UMass. I was a big Doctor Who dork at the time. Also used it on alt.callahans some years later.
