Because one day of Thanksgiving is not enough (3/7)
Today, I give thanks for intoxication and altered states, whether from endogenous or exogenous chemicals. Those other states of mind and experience can be a delight in themselves, but also, and importantly, they make the world bigger. Through alteration, I have expanded my own horizons, emotionally, mentally, ideologically, and in many ways there aren't words for.

From the peaceful stillness of meditation to the ecstatic highs of dancing, the speechless kaleidoscope of hallucination to the intensely social roll, I'm thankful for the breadth of possibilities, and all the many directions to push the boundaries beyond what I know today and into the vast undiscovered country of new things.
I'm feeling: thankfulthankful

Not to mention, a few stiff ones make the relatives easier to tolerate!
